Its a oxtail or beef shank soup. I changed up a few things as the stuff we use at our house growing up is slightly different. I think I'll be writing in the cookbook as well some of the change ups.
Mom tried it and liked it too. It just took awhile, 3 hours plus just boiling everything down. Added some of my favorite veggies and a few hours later - magic. We have way too much of it so I sent a ton home with my mom.
I might want to start a Filipino Sunday brunch. We used to do it in Manila with my dad's side of the family, but we ate out. Now I want to cook. Plus there's a great Filipino market & hub in Northridge nearby. Maybe as I get more confident we'll invite whoever too - not just the family but friends who want to try Filipino food.
Baby steps! Yeay!
